Barnabas Bulletin ~ 0041 AN INTERVIEW WITH GOD
"God will see you now for your interview," said a very busy receptionist. "Welcome home," God said, "What would you like to know?" "What surprises You most about mankind?" I asked. God replied: "That you get bored with being children, are in such a rush to grow up, then long to be children again. That you lose your health to make money, then lose your money to restore your health. That by thinking anxiously about the future, or by worrying about the past, you forget that you live in the present moment, and therefore you live neither for the present, nor for the future. That you live as if you will never die, and die as if you had never lived." Then God's loving hands took mine, and we were silent for a while. Then I asked, "As a parent, what are some of life's lessons You want Your children to learn?" AND GOD SMILED AND SAID: "Learn that you cannot make anyone love you, but you can always love yourself. Learn that what is most valuable is not what you want in your life, but WHO you have in your life. Learn that it is not good to compare yourselves to others. Each one of you is unique and beautiful, and has something special to offer this planet. Cherish who you are! You were meant to shine your own light. Do not allow others to determine how bright your light will be. Learn that it only takes a few seconds to inflict deep wounds in the people you love, but that it takes many years to heal them. Learn to forgive by practising forgiveness. Learn that there are people who love you dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings. Learn that money can buy everything but happiness, and that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is often the one who needs the most. Learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it totally different. Learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything about you - and loves you anyway." And so I realized that God would always love me - that He is always with me, and that “He will never leave me, nor forsake me” (Hebrews 13:5). All I need to do to find Him is to open my heart and listen. With that, I thanked God that I have been born for "just such a time as this"(Esther 4:14). I thanked Him for blessing me with an opportunity to live, to love, and to serve on this earth at this time period in history. Because I was born at this time, and in His will, I am assured that He has equipped and gifted me with everything I need to fulfil His divine plan and purpose for my life. I realised that whatever He asks, I can do, and that there's nothing I cannot overcome IN HIM. I'll be speaking to You again real soon," I said. And God replied, "Anytime, Anywhere, 24 hours a day - I'm ALWAYS here!" As you read this interview, take the time to think on each point. Do you need to make any adjustments to your thinking patterns - to your belief system? It is such an awesome privilege to have been chosen by the Most High God to be one of His children. It is an awesome thought that the Creator of the whole universe knows each one of us individually, even to the numbering of the hairs on our heads! (Matthew 10:30). Even more awesome is His availability to each and every one of us - ANYWHERE - ANYTIME - 24 HOURS A DAY!!! “Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). Be encouraged! With God on your side you are already a winner! Keep your eyes off the circumstances and upon the Lord, Who is with you everywhere, at all times, 24 hours a day
Please Pray This Prayer: "Heavenly Father, in Jesus precious name, I thank You that You have chosen me to live on this earth, at this time in history. Thank You that you have equipped me with all the gifts and talents I need to fulfil Your divine destiny for my life. I lift my eyes off my circumstances and refocus them upon You - the Source and Sustainer of all life - including mine. Right now I call upon You to speak into my life afresh. Where I have been in unbelief, please forgive me. Where I have been holding on to unforgiveness, I choose to let it go. Where I have been placing unrealistic expectations on those I love, I choose to release them. I look to You as my Source. I look to You to meet my needs. Thank You, Lord, that You are the ‘same yesterday, today and forever.’ Thank You, that You are always available - ANYWHERE - ANYTIME - 24 HOURS A DAY. Thank You, Lord, that ‘The Best is Yet to Come’ in my life. Amen.”
